Here at Foothills Nurseries we specialize in prairie-hardy trees and shrubs grown on our farms. Although Foothills Nurseries is proud of our work and our stock, we feel that our most important asset is you, our customer. Visitors are welcome to our nurseries – book an appointment for a guided tour of our operations. We are proud to serve each of our customers, from landscape contractors, developers, municipalities, to colleges and universities, and beyond. Foothills Nurseries, began under the vision and leadership of Henry Heuver in 1971. Henry has been instrumental in the growth and development of the nursery and landscape industry in Alberta, and across Canada. Henry is a true entrepreneur, who brought a horticultural background from Holland, and continued to invest in promoting the industry through his extensive work with Olds College, and work on several government and industry initiatives in the green industry. As Henry’s business began to grow, he expanded his team with Arnold Heuver, Ann Heuver, Cliff Bootsma, Todd Baker, and many others over the years who build a tremendous reputation for quality trees and service. In 2001 Blaire Cote bought Foothills Nurseries from Henry, and immediately expanded the land base with 300 more acres of irrigated land, which is now our Indus Farm. Blaire and his team continued to build on the existing foundation, and has brought Foothills Nurseries to where it is today with an available land base of over 400 acres with over 100,000 field trees, thousands of trees in our “pot-in-pot” operation, extensive shrub & perennial container yard, and recently a greenhouse operation. This rich history of almost 50 years of exceptional investment and leadership from these devoted individuals has positioned Foothills Nurseries for a very bright future. Our team is looking forward to growing plants and building relationships for generations to come!
