About For Every Girl
WHY? FOR EVERY GIRL exists because of Hannah who at the age of 3 was raped. She stopped attending school in the 5th grade, and was recently manipulated to sell her body to earn $2 to be permitted back in her home. We hear stories, like Hannah's, from the girls of Liberia trying to survive and their attempt to overcome sexual Gender-Based Violence. At For Every Girl, we exist to cultivate a movement of girls who have found freedom from Gender-Based violence. We desire to empower them to transform the outcomes of their futures, pursue their dreams, and be a catalyst for generational change in their homes, in their communities, and through their children. Like Hannah, we believe in the girls of Liberia and we love hearing their stories. We believe that they are worth fighting for and we will not give up until a world exists free of Gender-Based Violence FOR EVERY GIRL. HOW? Transform Her Future Through mental health services, case management, and mentor-ship, Every Girl's plan will be individualized to meet her needs with the assistance of our for Every Girl Advocate. Pursue Her Dreams Every Girl will have the choice in how she chooses to dream. We believe that education and skill/trade are at the forefront of obtaining sustainability and independence. Catalyst for Change Every Girl will find freedom from Gender-Based Violence. In turn, we believe that this will further impact familes, communities, and future generations.
