FORENSIC BUILDING EXPERTS is an architectural consulting firm specializing in litigation support providing forensic building investigation and analysis involving construction matters associated with construction defects, design defects, compliance of applicable building codes, compliance with required installation of materials, methods of construction standards and professional negligence or malpractice (Standard of Care Claims). FBE provides our clients with property condition assessments and inspection services for building turnover reports, Miami-Dade and Broward County 50 year building inspection services, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) evaluation and inspection services, building design defects, building installation defects, building envelope moisture intrusion evaluation, building roofing assembly water intrusion evaluation, building cladding control joint failure, and building expansion joint failure. FBE was founded by Steven H. Kahn, AIA, NCARB to provide Forensic Building Services to our clients; attorneys, building owners, developers, contractors and insurance adjusters. FBE will provide when requested by our client a cause-and-origin report of our investigation and provide expert testimony when called for a deposition and / or trial. FBE provides our clients with investigative services utilizing the most efficient methods to analyze each project and define which testing protocols are required for collecting data. Mr. Kahn's experience is defined by fact finding forensics coupled with many years of architectural and construction experience, knowledge of multiple state jurisdiction building code(s) and code editions, knowledge of Florida Product Approval components and assemblies, knowledge of Test Protocols for High-Velocity Hurricane Zones (HVHZ), knowledge of ASTM Standards for installation and testing of materials and assemblies.
