Our senior investigator, Bernard (Sandy) Kromenacker, has over 30 years of specialized education, training, and experience in the field of forensic fire and explosion investigations. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Sandy has conducted over 3300 fire origin and cause investigations. These thorough investigations often result in settlements that avoid litigation. However, he is an expert forensic fire witness who has qualified in both state and federal court for civil and criminal cases and who has provided testimony in numerous depositions and trials. FFCI has handled case both large and small fire loss incidents from various regions of the country. FFCI's goal is to provide independent, scientific analysis to our clients. Sandy's success with forensic fire expert witness testimony and fire origin and cause investigations has led to his recognition as a leading expert in the field of fire and explosion investigations. He shares his knowledge and expertise as an adjunct faculty instructor in the Fire Science program at Durham Technical Community College. As a mentor for students at Durham Tech and East Carolina University, he is committed to providing students experience in real world investigations.
