About Forever Families
Forever Families is a 501(c) 3, non-profit, licensed Child Placing Agency, contracted by the State of Michigan to provide Adoption, Foster Care & Licensing Services for them while also providing Pregnancy Counseling & Direct Consent Adoptions. Private (Direct Consent) Adoptions & Pregnancy Counseling Services are for birth mothers or couples who have either a crisis pregnancy or a pregnancy where they have made the loving, but difficult decision to place their child with another couple or person for adoption because they cannot parent themselves. Forever Families provides them with Preparation, Education & Support through this difficult time so they can choose who they would like to parent their child. They have 24 hour access to Pregnancy Counseling, among other services to walk with them during this entire process. While Forever Families started out as an Adoption Agency, we have grown to include Foster Care Services as the need has arisen within the community we serve. As our services have expanded to include foster care, so has our involvement with community resources to support our foster & kinship families. Kinship families are those families who have agreed to take care of relative children who have come into foster care through abuse & neglect who are now also going through the licensing process as other non-relatives voluntarily have done. This is an adjustment in which our staff support those families through & work with them to help them understand the changes that their lives will go through now that the "State" will be in their lives. Since 1997 Forever Families has worked towards providing permanence for the children and families of Michigan through preparation, education & support . We continue that goal with staff who are client & service driven, family focused.
