About Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce
The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce is located in Fort Scott, Kansas just one hour south of Kansas City at the junction of 69 and 54 highways. The mission of the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce is to advocate for prosperous economic development, tourism and quality of life in Fort Scott, Bourbon County and the surrounding area. The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce is comprised of 400 members: businesses, organizations and community-minded individuals. Chamber Coffees are held each Thursday from 8 to 9 a.m. at a different business location in addition to many other events held throughout the year. The Chamber office is located adjacent to the 1842 Fort Scott National Historic Site and the Downtown Historic District, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Chamber is also a Visitor/Tourism Information Center where there is always free coffee, cookies, WiFi and clean restrooms. There are many brochures available on Fort Scott attractions, events and businesses as well as maps and information on other cities and states. The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce issues a weekly e-newsletter "What's Happening in Fort Scott" that updates chamber and community members on upcoming events and other pertinent information.
