About Fort Worth Japanese Society (フォートワース 日本人会)
The mission of FWJS is to foster understanding between Japanese and Americans by providing opportunities to learn about Japan, its people, language, and culture. FWJS serves as a place of support and mutual aid for Japanese and Japanese Americans residing in and around Fort Worth. The Society fosters friendship between Americans, Japanese, and Japanese Americans through education, exchange, and community engagement. Members of all nationalities and cultural backgrounds are welcome to join the Society and participate in events. FWJS holds monthly luncheons, weekly Japanese language classes, and sponsors cultural demonstration groups, including the Dondoko Taiko drummers, ikebana, and Japanese dance. FWJS also plays a key role in supporting the semi-annual festivals as the Fort Worth Japanese Gardens.
