About Fort Worth & Western Railroad
Fort Worth & Western Railroad (FWWR) began in 1988, with the purchase of 6.25 miles of track through west Fort Worth from the former Burlington Northern Railroad. Fast forward almost three decades, and FWWR is now a vertically integrated full service railroad operating over 276 miles of track through 8 counties in North Central Texas, from Carrollton to Brownwood. FWWR interchanges with three Class I railroads, Union Pacific, BNSF and CPKC in Fort Worth and one short line railroad, Texas Pacifico at San Angelo Junction. As a shortline railroad with competitive rates, FWWR concentrates on getting smaller shipments to the larger, Class 1 railroads such as Union Pacific, BNSF Railroad, Kansas City Southern and TXPF. FWWR breaks down into six sub-divisions: Fort Worth Hodge, Fort Worth Cottonbelt, Gorman, Cleburne, Everman and Dublin. FWWR interchanges with Union Pacific at Fort Worth and BNSF at Fort Worth and Brownwood, Texas. Through a “bridge connection”, FWWR also interchanges with Kansas City Southern (KCS) with BNSF at Fort Worth and Texas Pacifico (TXPF) at San Angelo Junction. Our greatest strength is providing our clients with exceptional customer service and a creative approach to solving their transportation challenges. Our ranks are filled with individuals that have diverse backgrounds and loads of experience creating an exceptionally strong team.
