About Forward Architects

Forward is an architectural practice established in 2011 by Michael Pace and Christopher Micallef. The practice has gained reputation for excellence in designing contemporary projects in various realms and has grown into a steady team of architects, interior designers, structural engineers and administrative staff. Our portfolio includes cultural, residential, commercial, hospitality and office design. We strive to build and design architecture that impacts people’s lives. We believe in a conscientious approach to each project where every intervention has an influence of multiple aspects, whether social, historical, environmental or economic. With this mindset, we are committed to collaborative teamwork that aspires to create architecture and interiors that are both contemporary and sensitive to context and place. Recent projects include a museum fit out for the Military Heritage Experience in Fort St Elmo, the Casumo Headquarters, the Betsson offices and X House. The studio is currently working on a number of Valletta initiated projects that include residential renovations and the Hotel Rosselli, which is due to open in early 2019. In line with the practice’s mission to set up an overseas network and extend our client and project base beyond Malta’s shores, Forward set up a second base in Barcelona in 2014 and has since maintained a presence in the city in search of new opportunities. Our fundamental work ethic remains quality through refined design. We achieve this through a dedicated team that is motivated, organised and committed to delivering the best possible result.
