FotoFestival Naarden A biannual photo-festival organized in springtime within the walls of the medieval fortified town of Naarden. Beautiful historic locations provide room to the multiple expositions and workshops. The next edition of this unique photographic experience is in 2021 At this moment the board and the curators are working full force on the new edition of this unique festival. Since the discovery of photography, sometime in the first half of the 19th century into the present day some 175 years later, photography has changed in many ways. In the way we we capture the light, on glas with collodion and film developed in a dark room, to images caught on a light sensitive sensor developed by a computer. Also our way of thinking about photography from documentary to journalism and conceptual art. Fotofestival Naarden likes to share photography with a wide range of collectors and image lovers in all it's aspects. This year the head curators of the festival examine the fascination of professional photographers, its broad spectrum and its impact on today's society, both local and global. The photography is like no other, imagining the stories that keep us busy , make us happy or distress us and can make us realize how important photography is to our daily lives.
