OUR STORY 1936 Fouad Rahmé founded his first custom-made tailor shop in Beirut, Lebanon. At the age of 19, and already admired for the modern design he brought to men’s clothing, his success rapidly grew among the prominent Lebanese athletes, politicians, journalists, actors and businessmen. 1948 FR was selected to design the first uniform for the Lebanese Olympic delegation. This time period proved to be extremely successful with the rise of the contemporary lounge suit and the clean,sharp aesthetic look sought out by modern Lebanese men. 1951 While visiting Lebanon, HRH Prince Mishaal bin Abdulaziz ordered custom-made suits from FR and invited him to visit Riyadh, where he met King Abdulaziz, the founder of Saudi Arabia. After his visit, Fouad Rahmé became a household name in men’s clothing both in Lebanon and among the Royal Saudi Princes… 1955 A 2nd shop opened on Bechara-el-Khoury Avenue in Beirut. Here, high-end tailor-made suits were designed for famous clients, such President Camille Chamoun, King Saud Bin Abdulaziz, Omar Sharif and many others… The 1st shop became the main atelier, where over 20 tailors and trainees crafted each suit. 1963 A 3rd shop opened on Hamra street in Beirut. 1964 Fouad Rahmé’s son Henri joined the founder after completing his studies in Switzerland. Learning the trade from his father, Henri became the second generation tailor and later launched the Fouad Rahmé pret-a-porter line. 1975 The civil war broke out in Lebanon. Under the auspices of an Eminent Royal member of the Saud Family, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the family opened a 4 th shop in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. All Lebanon shops were closed until 1990. 2010 The third Generation Ralph Henri joined the family business, bringing new impetus and creativity to the Rahmé house of Tailoring. Today, Ralph offers a wide range of new designs for the international market, and particularly the Saudi market.
