About Foyle Hospice Official
Foyle Hospice is a charity providing specialist palliative care and end-of-life care services for people across the northern sector of the Western Health and Social Care Trust (WHSCT) in Northern Ireland. Palliative and end-of-life care are provided to people with life-limiting illnesses which can include heart and lung disease, dementia, advanced cancer, and other progressive neurological illness, alongside providing support for their family and carers. Our aim is to offer the best quality of life for our patients and their families, tailoring care to meet their individual needs. Our Vision Working in collaboration with our local community, we will strive for excellence and seek innovation in providing specialist, multi-professional, palliative care to patients, their families, and carers in the hospice and their own homes. All of our services are provided free of charge. We rely heavily on our generous donors and community fundraisers to allow us to continue providing our specialist care. Together, with your ongoing support, we can help others during a difficult time in their palliative and end-of-life care journey. Even when days cannot be added to life, Foyle Hospice aims to ensure that life is added to days. We provide Inpatient 24 hours care in our 9-bed Inpatient Unit, Community Home Care where patients are cared for in their own homes by specialist palliative care nurses. We have a Day Hospice and Integrative Care Clinic that cares for patients and their holistic needs. Quality of life is the focus of the clinic, which aims to maximise wellbeing and to help individuals and families learn how to care for themselves in the midst of potential change. Healing Hearts provides specialist bereavement support for any child or young person, aged 4-16 years, who have experienced a loved one receiving the diagnosis of a life-limiting illness or death of someone close to them regardless of the cause. We also offer adult bereavement support
