Fremont Insurance has been insuring and investing in Michigan exclusively since 1876. Dynamic Products, Exceptional Service, and Competitive Pricing have made Fremont Insurance one of the fastest growing and most respected companies operating in Michigan. On August 25, 2003, the Insurance Company’s board of directors unanimously adopted the plan of conversion. Under this plan, which was completed on October 15, 2004 with the Holding Company’s sale of approximately 862,000 the Insurance Company converted from a mutual to a Michigan stock insurance company. The Insurance Company changed its name from Fremont Mutual Insurance Company to Fremont Insurance Company. On August 1, 2011 the Auto Club Insurance Association, a Dearborn, Michigan-based insurer (ACIA), announced it has acquired Fremont Insurance Company through a merger transaction with its parent company, Fremont Michigan InsuraCorp, Inc. Fremont is a strong advocate of your local independent agents and feels they provide an invaluable tool in educating the consumer about insurance products and the ability to service their local communities better than direct insurance writers. Fremont is very selective on appointing its independent agencies. We are represented by less than 15% of the agencies in Michigan. We prefer to provide an exceptional service to a few, rather than an average service to the masses. The company is also a true support of the states "Pure Michigan" campaign. Currently Fremont Insurance is a Michigan exclusive company and commits itself to promoting the states economical development.
