Since 2002 Fresh Horizons has been successfully engaged in Community Research and has built up an expertise in the development of local people to deliver research projects for the public sector. The defining features of the Community Research process of inquiry is that community members, persons affected by service delivery or other key stakeholders in the community’s well being have the opportunity to be full partners in each phase of the work from conception to communication and dissemination of results. Local community researchers are recruited from the area of investigation – applying the normal standards of recruitment and selection: open advertising, selection for interview based on Person Specification and Job Description, Interview, offer letter, contract. In the last year the Company has recruited and trained, in conjunction with Northern College, over 30 community researchers for various projects throughout Kirklees. Teams of researchers are managed and supported in the field by full time staff who ensure delivery to agreed timescales and adherence to health and safety in the field. We employ a data analyst to ensure adherence to sector standards and complies with the Market Research Society Code of Conduct. We work in partnership with a private sector research company which allows access to the latest web based technology, giving access to live data which clients are able to manipulate.
