The mission of Fresh Opportunities is to empower and support students in leading food recovery clubs at their schools where they package surplus food from their school’s lunch, that is currently being thrown out, and donate it to unhoused individuals, shelters, and community fridges. Fresh Opportunities exists to provide food insecure individuals and families with dignified access to fresh, healthy, and balanced meals. Our goal is to turn K-12 students, in independent and public schools, across the US into leaders in their communities who have the voice and confidence to tackle even more challenges within and beyond food insecurity.
