About Fresh Start Ministries of Central Florida
CELEBRATING 34 YEARS ! Founded in 1986, Fresh Start Ministries provides a faith-based residential substance abuse recovery program for men in Orlando, Florida. This 68+ bed facility provides affordable treatment in a working program environment that is highly structured with several levels of accountability to provide the most supportive treatment while having the ability to work a full-time, day-time job. Given the high accountability and structure, Fresh Start Ministries is only for the most serious-minded men who are willing to commit to a year-long process of intensive recovery. The positive, Christ-centered environment is beneficial to the ultimate mind-changing thought processes of defeatism in which most substance abusers dwell. Changing our thoughts will ultimately change our patterns of behaviors. This male residential recovery program is an alternative to prison for many of our residents. Our counseling programs address the underlying issues which the resident's substance of choice generally attempts to mask or suppress. Families of the men in our faith based residential substance abuse recovery program also have the responsibility and the opportunity to attend the weekly 12-Step support group meetings in order to heal themselves and learn boundary setting for their struggling loved one. These weekly meetings provide a 30 minute class on addiction, recovery, codependency, or other life-controlling problems along with a 30 minute processing group to enable families to understand the dynamics of the recovery process.
