About Fresh Thoughts Consulting

Founded in April 2010, Fresh-Thoughts Consulting aims to link scientific research to policy in the area of sustainable development. Fresh-Thoughts seeks to promote the free flow of ideas between the scientific community and policy makers to improve decision-making at all stages of the policy cycle. The work performed is demand driven and forward thinking. By working inter-disciplinarily across sectors we aim to produce results that can be implemented on the ground. Our working methods cover strategic impact assessments, economic analyses, as well as social, institutional and statistical assessments. The science and policy areas covered are: water, agriculture, energy (incl. renewable energy), land use planning, environmental economics, adaptation to climate change, health and lifestyle and sports. Due to our large network of experts across Europe, we are able to perform EU wide studies and comparisons that enable the exchange of fresh ideas among different stakeholders without any barriers. In order to bring the best thoughts together, we also organise (virtual) meetings, workshops and conferences to enable creative thinking. We also offer study trips with the aim to create networks and to trigger the exchange of experiences. Our work mainly focuses on all European levels of governance, but we are capable of carrying out international assessments as well.
