The tale of Freshness is a feel good one. Not only because their unique range of products taste great, but because owner and baker Vanessa Clausen is a business woman success story. From humble beginnings filling orders in her Sydney home and delivering them by bus and taxi, Vanessa has expanded her business to the size it is today. Still handmade by Vanessa and her team (now from a commercial bake-house in Alexandria) the Freshness Fine Foods range has continued to grow since its original launch. The gluten-free range has developed more intensely over the years as more people are becoming intolerant to wheat and generally feel better on a wheat-free diet. The Freshess gluten-free range features moist almond-meal based muffins and bars like the Raw Chocolate and Cashew Bar, the Raw Goji Almond Bar, and the seedy and nutty Bird Bar. In 2013, a new line of muesli was launched, including the Gluten Free Millet Maple & Macadamia Muesli, and the Wheat Free Almond Nut Crunch. Just this year, the Cacao Pops was introduced, a healthier spin to an old childhood favourite. In addition to fulfilling the daily requirements of cafes, health food stores, universities and schools, Freshness also caters for weddings, corporate functions, and events. Vanessa’s willingness to listen to her customers and continuously innovate products to the highest standard is the key to her success with customers such as PFD Foods, Go Vita Distributors, Healthy Life Group, Boost Juice, Virgin Airlines, and Railcorp. While the demand has also increased, the focus at Freshness is still on providing fresh and wholesome snack foods with a healthy conscience.
