Freya Dalsjø is a contemporary luxury fashion brand founded in 2012 in Copenhagen by Freya Dalsjø. She studied at the prestigious fashion department of the Royal Academy of Art in Antwerp, before returning to Copenhagen in 2011 to launch her own ready to wear line. In 2012, her debut collection opened Copenhagen Fashion Week, with much critical acclaim – leading her to show her AW13 collection at London Fashion Week. That year, she won the esteemed award Søvtråden, which annually awards the most promising talents in the Danish fashion industry. Freya Dalsjø has since presented at Copenhagen Fashion Week biannually, continuing to receive growing international recognition. Freya Dalsjø is currently sold in Denmark, Middle east and North America. Freya Dalsjø’s garments are characterized by a strong appreciation for contemporary luxury, revitalizing heritage techniques with a fresh and avant-garde approach to the design process. "Design for me is about exploring and challenging the boundaries of material; the body and aesthetic,” she explains of her process: ”as a designer I aim to challenge these physical constraints and social constructs."
