About Friendly House LA

The mission of Friendly House is to provide women seeking recovery from alcohol and other substance use disorders with a safe, structured and supportive home-like environment that fosters recovery, personal growth and civic responsibility. Our goal is to help each and every client reclaim her dignity and acquire the knowledge, skills, support and resources she will need to maintain a drug-free, purposeful and productive life. As a community-based non-profit organization, our commitment is to extend a helping hand to every qualified applicant who sincerely desires recovery. Providing a Unique Rehabilitative Experience The program is comprised of three phases. Each phase corresponds to different activities, responsibilities, privileges and objectives and has a typical duration of between one and two months, depending on individual needs, circumstances and progress with meeting program and personal treatment goals. -Case Management -Educational Group Sessions -Recreational Groups -Individual Counseling -Morning Meditation Group -Discharge Planning -Group Counseling -Family Program -Fitness Program Phase 1 Phase One emphasizes stabilization and acclimation to the treatment milieu, assessment and recovery planning, development of early recovery skills and community building. Phase 2 Phase Two focuses on addressing underlying barriers to recovery, development of relapse prevention skills and support group networking and a gradual reentry into the community (i.e. seeking and obtaining employment or volunteer work, or enrolling in vocational training or school) Phase 3 Phase Three will focus on community reintegration, development and implementation of recovery maintenance skills and solidification of the resident’s recovery support network.
