About Friends of Indus Hospital US
Friends of Indus Hospital is a 501(c)3 tax exempt charity that was established to support the Indus Health Network -the largest privately run, completely free, chain of public Hospitals - providing quality health care to millions across Pakistan. Indus Health Network's ultimate goal is to achieve a paradigm shift in the healthcare sector in Pakistan. Indus commenced operations in 2004 with one hospital and is now managing 12 full-service Hospitals in Karachi, Lahore, Badin, Bhong, Multan and Muzaffargarh; and outreach programs covering 41 Districts of Pakistan. The level of impact of Indus health services is truly phenomenal. Indus has treated over 7 million people so far. Construction of four new hospitals are underway in all four provinces of Pakistan. These are the first paperless hospitals in Pakistan. There are no cash counters in the hospitals. They are also pioneers in design and application of ground breaking technology leading to advancement of patient outreach and medical protocol. Initiating public-private partnership, Indus has collaborated with Government - and are now running many poorly run Government Hospitals of Pakistan. Harvard University and Canadian public health sector officials, among many others, visited the Indus Hospitals to understand the phenomenon of the Indus Health Network, that is being run solely through the incredible spirit of donations of the Pakistani nation and overseas Pakistanis.
