About Friends of the Community
Friends of the Community is a student-led service and leadership initiative with five active chapters across Clear Creek ISD schools. Founded to empower young people to become confident, capable changemakers, the organization provides a platform for students to engage in meaningful service, leadership development, and community-driven action. Partnering closely with the Leader in Me program established in Clear Creek ISD, Friends of the Community integrates youth leadership principles into service projects like book drives, canned food collections, school supply donations, and interactive personality-based workshops. These activities are designed to foster agency, empathy, and collaboration among students of all ages. By working alongside district administrators, educators, and high school mentors, we’ve built a sustainable, inclusive network that encourages youth leadership and civic engagement. At its core, Friends of the Community is about showing young people that leadership isn’t reserved for the future. It starts now, and it starts with them.
