Founded in 1950, Friends of the Dallas Public Library celebrates 75 years of supporting our libraries and staff by raising money for the collections, programs, events and facility upgrades, while assisting in the strategic plans that make the Dallas Public Library an asset to the community. The library environment has changed dramatically in the last 75 years and libraries have expanded their reach into the community, providing programs for the homeless, vaccination clinics and voting locations for elections. Friends of the Dallas Public Library is a trusted non-profit that works in partnership with the City of Dallas. We have raised and donated more than $60,000,000 and countless volunteer hours to the Dallas Public Library system to ensure these programs and services continue.
