About Friends of the Family
Friends of the Family (FOF) is a nonprofit agency serving 25 counties in Iowa Friends of the Family's mission is to end homelessness by leading with the Housing First approach, driving systemic change through strong community partnerships, and providing individualized support that prioritizes client choice. Our services cover 25 counties: Allamakee - Benton - Black Hawk - Bremer - Buchanan - Butler - Cerro Gordo - Chickasaw - Clayton - Delaware - Dubuque - Fayette - Floyd - Franklin - Grundy - Hancock - Howard - Jones - Kossuth - Linn - Mitchell - Tama - Winnebago - Winneshiek - Worth. Our vision is that EVERYONE HAS A HOME. Our agency is powered by a dedicated team of over 35 full- and part-time staff and around 350 incredible volunteers and interns who join us each year. Serving 25 counties across Northeast and North Central Iowa, we support hundreds of individuals and families with vital services and resources. As a grant-funded organization, we depend on the generosity of volunteers, donors, and community advocates to help us expand our impact. Every contribution—whether financial, in-kind, or simply spreading the word about the needs in our communities—plays a crucial role in helping us reach more people and change more lives.
