Established in 1974 by a coalition of influential South Floridians, the Friends group has spent over five decades advocating for library funding, preventing branch closures, and enriching community engagement across Miami-Dade County. Our Mission To spark public interest in the Miami-Dade Public Library and its branches; enhance awareness of its services and needs; and foster widespread support for its development—so that libraries can effectively serve our county’s diverse communities.
