From Roots to Wings is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that creates a safe environment for underprivileged communities of Port au Prince, Haiti. The primary focus for the organization is to provide shelter, education, and resources to these communities. From Roots to Wings serves as a support system and offers guidance to overcome the drawbacks of life. To build a self-sustaining community everyone in the community is empowered to make positive changes in their lives. From Roots to Wings is a new organization that operates remotely from various locations in the United States. The US team works with Haitian staff members to implement programs, fund raise, and conduct research in Haiti, specifically in Troutier and Cité Fequière located in Cité Soleil. At From Roots to Wings, we believe in grassroots development. Our Haitian staff is integral in this process as they are members of the community. They aid us in building relationships with the less fortunate members of society. The Haitian staff also leads the research for FRW by conducting surveys which we use to create programs to achieve our goal of sustainable development. Mission: From Roots to Wings exists to develop sustainable community-based avenues towards empowerment. Vision: We envision a world where all individuals have access to basic necessities of life, knowledge , and the opportunities to break out of poverty
