About FRSCS - Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society

The Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society (FRSCS) is a dedicated, not-for-profit organization working to protect and restore one of North America's most iconic freshwater fish. The White Sturgeon of the Fraser River, a threatened species that has survived since the age of the dinosaurs. Since 1997, FRSCS has brought together a powerful network of First Nations, scientists, governments, industry, educators, and volunteers to conserve this remarkable, prehistoric species and its habitat. The vision is to ensure that White Sturgeon are wild, healthy, and self-sustaining throughout the Fraser River watershed. Through the award-winning, volunteer-driven research and monitoring program, FRSCS collects critical data that guides science-based recovery efforts and helps tackle threats like habitat loss, fishery impacts, and juvenile survival. With the leadership and inspiration of Founder, Rick Hansen, FRSCS engages communities in education, advocacy, and hands-on stewardship that make a real difference for the river and all the species that depend on it. By donating to the FRSCS, you're supporting meaningful action to preserve an irreplaceable part of BC’s natural heritage. Together, we can make a difference for Fraser River White Sturgeon for generations to come.
