About Fuji Electric (Malaysia)

Fuji Electric (M) Sdn Bhd (FEM) in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah Darul Aman was incorporated in February 1996. Earlier operations included Substrate and Media magnetic disk production. In March 2008, Fuji Electric Semiconductor (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was established for the manufacturing of industrial Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) modules. On 1st April 2015, the magnetic disk and power semiconductor businesses were merged under a single business entity known as Fuji Electric (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. or FEM. Currently, Semiconductor IGBT module is the main product of FEM. In Aug 2021, FE Japan announced a new investment of about JPY25 Billion (RM945 Million) for the expansion of 8” Silicon Wafer in FEM. Later in September 2022, FE Japan had added an additional of JPY 28.5 billion (RM955 Million) investment to increase the 8” Wafer production capacity for the manufacturing of the IGBT power semiconductor products, which are used to manage power flows in air conditioners, electric vehicles, solar and more. FEM has embarked on the pursuit of outstanding quality products with minimal impact on the environment, and was awarded with ISO9001:2015 in March 2017, followed by ISO14001:2015 in August 2017, and ISO45001:2018 in September 2021.
