About Fundación En Vía

Fundación En Vía is a non-profit organization located in Oaxaca City, Mexico. Fundación En Vía works with women entrepreneurs in six Zapotec communities in the Tlacolula Valley. Our mission is to promote the empowerment of women, the wellbeing of their families, and the strengthening of communities by providing participatory programs that encourage the growth of income-generating businesses and personal development. We work toward this mission through three main programs: Microfinance, Education and Responsible Tourism. Our Microfinance Program gives women the opportunity to create or expand small businesses, empowering them to better provide for themselves and their families. Our Education Program imparts the knowledge the women need to make better decisions regarding their businesses, the loan money they receive, and their personal finances. And our Responsible Tourism Program allows us to leverage resources from tourism and direct them in a sustainable manner into the communities that we work in. In addition to our pillar programs of microfinance, education and responsible tourism, we run an English Program in two separate communities. Through the help of English-speaking volunteers from all over the world, we offer free English classes to community members of all ages.
