About Fundacja "Wrocławskie Hospicjum dla Dzieci"
Our seat is in Wrocław, but we support children and their parents in the whole Lower Silesia region. We're home hospice – ill children stay at their homes. This is where they can receive help from our staff – doctors, nurses, psychologists, therapists and social workers. Home hospice for children supports children (under the age of 26) suffering from incurable and chronic diseases. They remain under professional care from few days to a dozen or so years. The hospice staff every day take care of the children's and their families' comfort. They distribute pain relievers, provide rehabilitation and ensure that medical equipment is available. Because in situations when a child gets ill, the whole family needs help, we offer complete support. This is the essence of palliative care (from Latin pallium – coat) that ensures complex support from medical, psychological and social perspective.
