Accurately diagnosing and effectively treating people suffering from impaired metabolism due to thyroid disease has been my passion for the last 13 years of my 26-year health care career. My expertise includes distilling complex research data into clinically-relevant information and effectively communicating it to a variety of audiences. Currently, my extensive literature reviews reveal that neuroendocrine disrupters such as PCB’s can damage thyroid hormone production and impair metabolism. Typical thyroid tests often miss the diagnosis resulting in loss of health and polypharmacy. Resting metabolic rate is a functional assessment of thyroid hormone utilization and must be integrated into the standard of care. My vision for my professional growth is to present these ideas to larger audiences of medical professionals to educate and improve public health.
