About FundaVida
FundaVida offers hope to youth in San Jose, Costa Rica through strategic programs of bilingual education, robotics training, ecological awareness, leadership development, emotional counseling, nutritional health, and athletic competition. Fundación Pura Vida Coffee, FundaVida (http://www.facebook.com/pages/FundaVida/356545043087?sk=wall), offers programs to socially at-risk children and youth in three poverty stricken communities located around the southern rim of San Jose, Costa Rica. Based in San Jose, with 13 years experience, FundaVida now runs 8 programs reaching over 650 youth, many of whom would be involved in violent and self-destructive behavior without FundaVida. With the oversight of a board of directors, 15 full-time staff members (representing 6 different countries), strategically target the problems of delinquency, poverty, and violence in South San Jose through eight pioneering programs. FundaVida leverages every dollar donated in order to maximize impact. By concentrating on FundaVida’s core competency of innovative empowerment, each of the eight programs sow seeds of transformation daily in the communities of 25 de Julio, Concepción de Alajuelita, and Linda Vista de Patarra.
