About Futura International

Futura International has been founded by Michiel Jonker as a management consulting firm, based in South Africa. “Futura” is the Latin for “the future” – meaning that we are a future-orientated business (as typified by our slogan, “Secure the Future”). Although the tagline can be interpreted in a narrow and literal sense (e.g., by securing a client’s IT systems or improving their governance controls), we also provide future research services, by assisting clients to secure their futures by gaining foresight about and aligning their strategies with the future. Futura International is local but can assist clients with multi-national activities; hence the “International” in our name. Futura International provides Strategic Foresight Development Services, Operational Management Services, Strategic Marketing Services, and Corporate, IT, Digital And Cybersecurity Governance Services. At Futura International we believe that every business can maximize its chances of success by not only applying appropriate risk management strategies, but also by incorporating foresight into its strategic thinking (i.e., to identify new business opportunities). Business is, in its core, about opportunities and risks – i.e., to pursue opportunities and to manage the risks associated with pursuing those opportunities. In the end, a business must profit from its opportunities. Business is about turning opportunities into profitable endeavours. Sadly, we never hear about opportunity management, only risk management. Nevertheless, Futura International also believes that any business can profit from their risks – meaning that through proper risk management and governance, an organisation can mitigate (minimize) profit erosion, resulting in higher profits.
