About Future Black Female
Future Black Female: A Feminist-Informed Vision for Empowering Black Youth Future Black Female (FBF) is a feminist-informed, Black-led, registered Canadian charity with a mission to empower Black girls and women between the ages of 16 and 22 to take charge of their education, career, and personal development. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in St. Catharines, Ontario, our organisation has quickly established itself as a vital force for equity and empowerment—not only in the Niagara Region, but across Canada and globally. At FBF, we believe that young Black women and girls have the right to thrive in environments that affirm their identities, honour their histories, and equip them with the skills and networks they need to succeed. Through our dynamic programming and community partnerships, we focus on three key pillars of wellbeing: Mental Health, Financial Wellbeing, and Educational and Career Development. Underpinning all of our work is a commitment to systemic change, equity, and the creation of culturally safe and healing-centred spaces for Black youth of all genders.
