About Galerie Canesso
Maurizio Canesso founded his Paris gallery in 1994 in the 9th arrondissement, in the heart of the Hôtel Drouot neighbourhood. Driven by his passion for Italian art from Renaissance to Baroque, he has dedicated the last thirty years of his career to discovering and rediscovering masterpieces as well as giving them a new life, before they are offered to international clients, both private and public. A major actor in the art market, the Canesso gallery organizes ambitious exhibitions, often in collaboration with other prestigious institutions, and accompanied by their own publications. It has presented works by famous artists such as Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, Guercino, Guido Reni, Simon Vouet, Jusepe de Ribera and Francisco de Zurbaràn, among others. It also participates to prestigious art fairs such as TEFAF Maastricht and TEFAF New York, leading to special exhibitions and scholarly catalogues. The Canesso Gallery seeks to stand by collectors on an exclusive, long-term basis, offering paintings that are appreciated across the world.
