Garrison Financial Corporation is an SEC-registered, independent investment management firm based in rapidly growing Northwest Arkansas, home of Wal-Mart, Tyson Foods, J.B. Hunt, and other dynamic American companies. The firm manages equity and fixed income investment portfolios for high-net worth individuals and mid-market institutions. Garrison Financial was formed in 2004 by retired trucking executive Tom Garrison and his two brothers to manage their family's investments and business enterprises. The three brothers are descendents of Sheridan Garrison, who founded Arkansas Freightways, which later became American Freightways, the nation's fourth largest trucking line, before being acquired by FedEx Corp. and renamed FedEx Freight East. Son Tom Garrison was president and CEO of FedEx Freight East, responsible for running one of the largest regional freight carriers in America, until his retirement in 2002. In 2005, Garrison Financial Corporation acquired Garner Asset Management, a well-respected Northwest Arkansas investment management firm serving large institutions and wealthy families, and renamed it Garrison Asset Management. At the time, Tom Garrison said he wanted to offer to individuals and families the same sophisticated investment management services normally reserved for large institutions and the very wealthy and combine them with the highest quality personal service.
