The name of my brand is a tribute to my grandmother, Maria Gaspari, who taught me the art of lace-making and knitting at a young age. Through her patient guidance, she instilled in me a love for this ageless practice that has stayed with me throughout my life. I also want to honor all the mothers and grandmothers who are passing on any kind of traditional practice of making garments, and celebrate the sense of connection and continuity that comes from learning and practicing crafts across generations. The foundation of the brand is centred around the concept of "Maestranza" - an Italian term that translates to a skilled group of master artisans. Our Maestranza consists of confident, hard-working and inspirational women with a passion for beauty, creativity, playfulness, innovation, collaboration, and mad experimentations.
