Gate 5 is helping the world understand that one of its most plentiful and misunderstood materials – sewage, is thought of as waste and released into the environment — yet, is a valuable asset with as much energy as coal. In fact, a pound of sewage sludge contains an average of 7,000 BTUs, the same as an average pound of coal. Gate 5 turns that sewage sludge into energy, and unlike current biologically-based sewage treatment approaches, there is no methane produced with Gate 5’s thermal Infrastructure. Gate 5’s patented, sustainable process requires less initial capital and has a significantly lower operating costs compared to current approaches. Our infrastructure can also be used to process animal manure, food waste and byproducts as well as sewage sludge. Gate 5 Infrastructure means renewable energy, cleaner air, smaller environmental impact, and lower costs.
