About Gate Tech

Gate Tech specializes in slide gates, swing gates, and gate entry systems in residential, commercial and industrial applications. We are proud to be serving the communities of Hillsborough, Manatee, Polk, and Pasco counties. Located in Plant City, we are a small family owned and operated business. We seek to provide our customers with the highest quality products and service. Gate Tech Inc. started with Leon Pelham in the 1970's when he began installing fence. Eventually this beccame Pelham Fence. When Mike Pelham took this company over in the early 1990's, the foundations for Gate Tech Inc were laid as Pelham Fence began to venture into gate operators. In 1996 Gate Tech Inc. was formed to sell a new product: the Gate Tech Slide Operator. This innovative slide gate operator was one of the first to adapt several new technologies. One was the slow start/slow stop, which today is a standard feature on most operators but was almost nonexistant at the time. It was also one of the first direct drive operators utilizing a gear box. Many operators today utilize this system rather than belts or chains. While we no longer manufacture our own operators the same quality hard work and innovation goes into everything we do.
