About Gator Theme Park Engineering & Design Club
Gator Theme Park Engineering & Design Club (Gator TPED) is a multidisciplinary student organization at the University of Florida focused on fostering the next generation of themed entertainment talent through professional, technical, and social opportunities. Our club events and activities include design teams, company tours, industry guest speakers, social trips to parks, and much more. Our club members have been recognized by winning 1st Place Overall, Best Roller Coaster, and Best Mechanical Design at the 2018 Ryerson Invitational Thrill Design Competition presented by Universal Creative; 1st Place and 3rd Place in the 2018 Cornell Design Competition; and Semi-Finalists in the 2017 Disney Imaginations Design Competition. The club was founded at the University of Florida in m Spring 2017. The club has grown tremendously since, and such growth would not have been possible without the generous support of industry professionals and passionate students. The organization consists of 40+ active members with 350+ members in our Discord Server. Our members have attended professional events such as SkyNext presented by Skyline Attractions, IAAPA, ASTM, and TEA NextGen events. Many of our members have gone on to secure internships by actively participating in the club events and attending such professional events with the club. Some companies students have interned or gone onto full time positions with include Universal Creative, SeaWorld Parks and Resorts, The Walt Disney Company, Disney College Program, Skyline Attractions, Animax Designs, Entech Innovative, Nassal, BRPH, ThemeWorks, and many more!
