About Gay & Lesbian Arts Magazine
ABOUT US For over 20 years I have been continuously frustrated by being afraid to be openly gay while learning and networking in the Arts and entertainment business. I spent many years attending SXSW, WMC and Billboard events where I was constantly afraid to be “myself”. I knew I was not the only one, but what choice did I have? Then in early 2006 I met with my mentor, Kevin Black (former VP Interscope & Warner Bros). I shared my ideas with Kevin of creating a magazine and conference for GLBT artists writers, dancers and musicians. He encouraged me to follow my dreams, so for over 3 years now, we here at GLAM have tirelessly worked to be the “Creative Arts Magazine” of the GLBT world. Our primary goals are to provide GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Trans-gender) Artists, DJ’s, Musicians, Writers, Poets, Photographers, Dancers, Actors and Industry professionals a comprehensive quarterly trade magazine, an annual fun concert cruise event and an annual professional conference & award show to include three full days of networking, panels, workshops, artist showcases and parties.
