My name is Desiree Sousa, and I am the proud owner of Gay Travel Information and We Are Gay Friendly. My journey in the gay hospitality industry began years ago when I founded Out & About Travel in 1999, fueled by my passion for travel and a commitment to showcasing the diverse options available to the LGBTQ community. We were among the first online travel agencies dedicated to gay travel, often recognized as pioneers in the online gay and lesbian travel sector. In 2010, Out & About Travel transitioned into Gay Travel Information. This shift marked a new chapter as I sought a creative approach to evolve from a travel agency into a Marketing and PR service, continuing to support the same companies and events I had partnered with for over a decade. Today, Gay Travel Information boasts an impressive 150k hits per month, establishing itself as a premier resource for the LGBTQ community and its allies. In 2013, I launched We Are Gay Friendly, a global directory that highlights LGBTQ-friendly businesses. My mission through these platforms has always been to empower the LGBTQ community and our allies to support one another.
