About GC Sports GC Sports is the Irish importer and distributor of international and world-class cycling products, including Olympia and Tommasini bikes from Italy and Van Nicholas titanium bicycles from the Netherlands. Based in Killarney, Co. Kerry, our goal is to supply high quality products to the Irish cycle trade. We endeavour to provide the best in field service and excellent customer relationships in a timely and cost efficient manner. Our Team John Bowe is the founder and CEO of GC Sports. He is an avid sports fan with a particular interest in triathlons, cycling and open water swimming. He has cycled on some of the most challenging routes in the world including the Pyrenees and French Alps, completed the Paris Marathon, Ironman 70.3 Dublin and Ironman Barcelona. In 2014, John cycled 360km from Greystones to Dingle in one day to raise money for charity. John is also the first person to swim the three lakes of Killarney end to end; a total distance of 15km. John’s professional background is in sales and marketing where he worked for 17 years in the drinks, service and hospitality sector for international brands owned by Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard and Diageo. In 2014 he founded GC Sports, embarking on a new entrepreneurial challenge that combines his biggest passions of cycling and sales. Did You Know? The name GC Sports comes from the competitive cycling term general classification or GC. In multiple stage races, times are tracked individually with each stage having a timed winner. The overall winner is calculated by GC, with the rider who gains the fastest time overall from combined stage results.
