About Gem-Tech Gemological Institute
Gem-tech SRLS (www.gem-tech.org) is a Gemological Institute engaged in education, gemological information, research and gem reports. Gem-tech not only operates in Campania and Basilicata as a licensed educational branch of IGI (International Gemological Institute) (www.igi.org), but organizes courses in spectrophotometry and advanced gemstone identification in partnership with MAGI Instruments, training courses in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Naples. IGR (Rivista Italiana di Gemmologia / Italian Gemological Review) is a communicative project conceived in 2016 by Gem-Tech with the purpose of developing an information network in Italy for Gemologists and professionals working daily in the gemstone field. An initiative entirely carried out in Italy committed to the promotion of transparent practices and complete and fair information for the benefit of the trade, the industry, enthusiasts and specialists. Gemtech is the editing company of the magazine published since 2017 in two editions, Italian and International (in English), and distributed all over the world. https://www.rivistaitalianadigemmologia.com/ Gem-Tech has entered into a stable partnership with the Federico II University in Naples (Department of Earth Science and Chemistry) and Vanvitelli University in Caserta. The most noticeable achievements include a studies on the treatments of corundum and on the identification of coral treatments as well as the organization of the CIGES 2013, an international gemmological conference held at the Royal Mineralogical Museum of Naples. Gem-Tech is at the forefront for the identification of synthetic diamonds and its laboratory is among the best equipped in Italy. The instrumentation available at the Gem-Tech gemological laboratory include the following stereoscopic and immersion microscopes, Raman spectrophotometer, FT-IR, UV-Vis-NIR, UV lamp, fiber optic and Nordic light lamps, Natural Diamond Detector, optical spectroscope, polariscope...
