About Gemaur Gymanwlad Cymru | Commonwealth Games Wales
Commonwealth Games Wales is responsible for selecting, preparing and leading Team Wales at the Commonwealth Games and the Commonwealth Youth Games. For every Games, we aim to deliver the best prepared team possible, create an inspiring environment and provide strong leadership. We also aim to raise awareness of all Commonwealth through engaging every individual in Wales and Welsh communities across the Commonwealth. We are one of 72 Commonwealth Games Associations who are members of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF). The CGF is the parent body for the Games, responsible for its direction and control and we fully support their mission to ‘unite the Commonwealth through sport’. Commonwealth Games Wales is one of only 6 countries to have competed in every single Games since its launch in 1930. Commonwealth Games Wales aims to drive forward its plans to continue building on the record success in the Gold Coast, providing positive, inspiring and life-changing experiences going into the Commonwealth Youth Games 2021 and Birmingham 2022.
