About Gender Equity In Mathematics (GEM)
Gender Equity in Mathematics at Berkeley (GEM) is an organization that serves to foster a community and provide a network amongst the undergraduates in mathematics at Cal. GEMmers hope to establish a long-lasting relationship with other Berkeley undergraduates, graduate students, and professors while finding unity in their common love of math. We have weekly meetings with activities ranging from study hours to talks from graduate students to game nights. We also take fun field trips off campus and other math-related activities outside of our Monday meetings. Check out our events page and calendar for updates! Founded in February 2014 by Katrina Passarella and Meaghan McConlogue, WIM is still a fairly new student organization but has grown and accomplished a remarkable amount within the last year. Check out our pages to see what we’re all about!
