In 1997 Tauranga electrician Graham Hockly, and builder-business partner David Mansel formed Generation Homes. Their partnership was forged on trust, an ethic of hard work, quality workmanship, integrity and providing value for money. Those ethics are still as strong within the company as they were in 1997, and are the bedrock to our success. Those staunch values have earned us a reputation as a company to be trusted. Upholding that reputation is something every member of our team takes very seriously. Today Generation Homes has grown to become one of New Zealand’s top 10 residential construction companies by volume. We believe building doesn’t need to be a stressful, time-consuming exercise where costs keep mounting. To do that we have created and implemented simple, streamlined processes. Building our company on such solid ethical foundations means we have lasted and flourished through tough times, and a Global Financial Crisis. We are in a strong financial position with a total turnover of more than $100 million last year and work in all areas from Christchurch in the South to Taupo in the North and right through the main centres to Northland . We pay strict attention to quality control and negating price variations. We know our people – customers, joint venture partners, employees, suppliers and contractors – are our greatest asset. We focus on listening, removing potential frustrations and exceeding expectations. Every one of our customers enjoys the security of a fixed-price contract and can watch their new home being delivered according to an individually tailored building schedule.
