Genus Care was brought to Australia by Theo Kuppens, Managing Director of Genus Connect. Theo has extensive experience in the aged care sector, providing transformational and innovative smart communication devices that are market-leading. Theo identified a gap in the Australasian market for an all-in-one assistive communications device that could help the elderly stay connected, and feel safe but still maintain a sense of independence within their own home. He knew this is often the source of stress for their children and loved ones and it is important to be able to keep a watchful eye from a distance. With this desire in mind, Theo discovered the perfect solution – Genus Care, which was designed and founded in The Netherlands in 2018 by Jill Mulder and Hans-Elias de Bree. Genus Care has 7 in-built sensors supported by an App and allows secure video calls and photo sharing. Genus Care is more than just a device, it’s a lifeline for the elderly and people with disabilities. It’s designed to help them live independently and never feel lonely by staying connected with their families and healthcare professionals. With Genus, remote care is made possible with its monitoring and alert system via the App, bringing everyone together in an accessible way. Theo has now brought Genus Care to Australia and New Zealand, joining many other homes around the globe.
