David Franklin, the Founder and CEO of George James Associates, has 40 years’ experience in creating beautiful, innovative and functional buildings. He has worked on hundreds of high-end residential and commercial projects in the UK, Europe and the Middle East, often with listed buildings and/or in conservation areas, which require specialist knowledge and sensitivity. David’s focus is always the client’s desires and requirements, working with them as closely as they wish to create the building they want. George James Associates covers the roles of project management, architectural design and detailing, planning, and cost management in a demanding high-end residential market. Our detailed knowledge of these key areas, materials and construction processes ensures our projects are handled holistically. A building’s services - mechanical, electrical, lighting, data, audio visual, and controls – are often the most challenging aspect; our profound understanding and extensive experience means that they can be integrated seamlessly into the fabric of the building. Too often in the construction of high-end residential buildings, sustainability is a ‘nice-to-have’ bolt-on. As pioneers of building sustainability (geothermal, heating, cooling, controls, heat recovery and the built environment) and in the use of materials, technologies and techniques, we believe that integrating sustainability from concept will lead to a building that not only has lower environmental impact, but is significantly more energy efficient.
