About Georgia Primary Care Association
Since 1977, the Georgia Primary Care Association (GPCA) has been the statewide voice and guiding organization for all Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) across the state of Georgia. These FQHCs, also known as Community Health Centers, offer integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health services to many vulnerable Georgians, including uninsured or underinsured. GPCA comprises a network of 35 individual FQHC organizations with a total of 330 clinics spread across 140 counties in the state. Our community health centers have proudly served 669,000 Georgians, ensuring access to essential healthcare services. GPCA’s mission is twofold: 1. Quality Healthcare: We strive to ensure accessible, high-quality healthcare services for all underserved Georgians. 2. Development and Expansion: We support the ongoing development and expansion of community-based health centers throughout the state. Our team collaborates with FQHC members to provide: - Training and Technical Assistance - Workforce Development - Information Technology Development - Grassroots Advocacy - Support to Expand New Healthcare Delivery Sites - Operational Models for Community Health Centers - Leadership for Community Activities Notably, GPCA serves as both the state’s Primary Care Association and Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN). Under cooperative agreements with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC), GPCA represents all 35 HRSA funded FQHC organizations in Georgia. Together, we make a positive impact in every community across the state of Georgia.
